We wish to clarify the Vedanta Society’s position regarding former member Nishanth Selvalingam.

Mr. Selvalingam has no affiliation or organizational relationship with the Vedanta Society. His teachings, activities, and organizations are independent of the Vedanta Society and are not endorsed, authorized, or condoned by the Society.

Mr. Selvalingam has no authority from the Vedanta Society to represent it, teach on its behalf, or confer spiritual initiation. 

The Society requested and obtained Mr. Selvalingam’s resignation from membership. As part of that separation, he agreed not to visit any of our centers or to attend Vedanta Society talks, classes, functions, or other Society-sponsored programs.

We issue this statement to dispel any misunderstanding about Mr. Selvalingam’s relationship with the Vedanta Society or his authority to act on its behalf.
